What: Many small organizations are understaffed and would love extra hands to help them organize items they receive as donations such as clothing, toys, school supplies or other products.

How & Who: Call any local charity that you would like to help, or look on their website to see if they have opportunities listed.

Example: The TLC Free Shower Program in Boca Raton often gets donations of travel-sized products that need to be organized for their clients who come to shower.

Example: The Legacy Closet in Margate got a donation of 3 giant boxes of makeup. We were asked to organize them for teens in foster care. We made little bags with a variety of products and added notes of encouragement.

About SASHA

IMG_1198.JPG

I am currently a High School Student.  Since I was in 5th grade, I have done a lot of community service geared towards helping kids through my family’s non-profit. I have participated in and led many different types of events and programs. Friends and classmates have often asked me for ideas about where to volunteer or how to run a community service program. I thought it would be useful to put my experiences and suggestions all in one place so people can find things that interest them.

Any questions?
