What: Put your talents to good use by helping a local non-profit

How: I take a class on television production at school and I was able to offer my services to two local charities by filming interviews and short promotional pieces for them.

Other ideas:

  • Give lessons to kids at an after-school program (singing, dancing, cheer, instruments, yoga, sports, math, magic, anything!)

  • Help a small non-profit with their social media accounts. Many small charities don't have a dedicated person to work on social media and it's an important way to connect with their audience.

  • If you like photography, you can offer family photo shoots for an organization you like. This is something appreciated by everyone as it’s very costly to hire a professional photographer. It’s an inexpensive way to give back using the talent you have.

About SASHA

IMG_1198.JPG

I am currently a High School Student.  Since I was in 5th grade, I have done a lot of community service geared towards helping kids through my family’s non-profit. I have participated in and led many different types of events and programs. Friends and classmates have often asked me for ideas about where to volunteer or how to run a community service program. I thought it would be useful to put my experiences and suggestions all in one place so people can find things that interest them.

Any questions?
