Laundry Kits

What: Clean clothes are important for health and self-esteem, but laundry detergent is expensive and not covered by SNAP (formally known as food stamps). Make laundry kits to go to homeless or struggling families.

How: Snack sized Ziploc bags work well and should contain:

  • 1 laundry pod

  • 2 dryer sheets

  • 6 quarters

Where: Any non-profit that serves homeless or low-income families

About SASHA

IMG_1198.JPG

I am currently a High School Student.  Since I was in 5th grade, I have done a lot of community service geared towards helping kids through my family’s non-profit. I have participated in and led many different types of events and programs. Friends and classmates have often asked me for ideas about where to volunteer or how to run a community service program. I thought it would be useful to put my experiences and suggestions all in one place so people can find things that interest them.

Any questions?
