What: Collect, sort, and donate legos to be given to children who can’t afford them.

How:

  • Ask for donations of new or used legos

  • Sort the used legos: disassemble, and sort into bricks, minifigures, and bases (no electronic pieces or partially or fully built figures- see Lego’s instructions below)

  • It takes a lot of time to disassemble, so if you have donations that are already put together, make sure you have a lot of help and a lot of time to work on it.

Where: You can donate them locally to a daycare center, after-school program, hospital or shelter. There is an organization in Wellington called Bricks Busting Boredom that will take donations, or you can ship to the Lego company. Lego will give you a prepaid label to ship your boxes and send you a tax letter. Instruction, info, and a link to the shipping label are here. https://www.lego.com/en-us/sustainability/environment/replay

About SASHA

IMG_1198.JPG

I am currently a High School Student.  Since I was in 5th grade, I have done a lot of community service geared towards helping kids through my family’s non-profit. I have participated in and led many different types of events and programs. Friends and classmates have often asked me for ideas about where to volunteer or how to run a community service program. I thought it would be useful to put my experiences and suggestions all in one place so people can find things that interest them.

Any questions?
