Other Types of Collections That You Can Organize...

What:

1) Do a drive for items that fit your interest or hobbies and collect what is needed (such as sports equipment, ballet/dance attire, musical instruments, etc)

2) Find a local organization that means something to you. Call or look on their website to see if they have a wishlist. Or find out if they have a one-time need for something specific. A couple of examples:

Ski Clothing Drive

What: I have a family member involved with the Brandon Merritt Charitable Foundation and found out that they needed winter clothing for one of the families they were sending on a ski vacation. Since we live in Florida, a collection was needed.

How:

  • Create a flyer - include information about the charity to help get more donations.

  • Make sure that all of the items are washed and clean and without rips or holes before you donate them.

  • Bed Bath and Beyond sells large vacuum seal bags to transport bulky items.

Where: Call any non-profit you feel a connection with.

Newborn Baby Drive

What: One of the organizations we have worked with in the past told us they had a client who was in the hospital having a baby during the early stages of the pandemic. Because of store shut downs and limited means and ability to go out, she didn't have clothing and supplies needed to take the baby home.

How: I created a flyer and shared it on my social media and a neighborhood Facebook page.
